thats amore

UPS is no longer doing the whiteboard ads, which I really liked, but I think they did a good job with this commercial. Love is a theme in the ad, and UPS is trying to communicate to their audience that UPS loves logistics. The song in the commercial is a remake of "Amore," which means love in Italian. UPS mailed packages start out in America, and the commercial follows the packages to Italy. At the end, a message is shown that reads "UPS loves logistics" and the message comes full circle. I think this ad is effective and it communicates how UPS uses technology to be logistical. I like this ad because UPS is moving away from the whiteboard ads and this commercial should get people talking about something new.

Jeans

When I think about commercials for jeans, one brand instantly comes to mind. Levi's Wrangler jeans are for everyday guys who do guy stuff, so having Brett Favre endorse them seems to make sense. Favre is the superhero for many people because a lot of guys feel like they can relate to him. He is not snobby and condescending, and neither are Wrangler jeans. I like this commercial, I like the Favre-Wrangler combo, and I like the Levi brand.

Coke

I have always loved and respected the Coca-Cola brand, and this commercial is no different. The visual scenes in this ad are mind-blowing, and there is a feeling of action and adventure. A man sleep walks from his tent in the jungle of Africa with wild animals into a cabin with a fridge and pulls out an ice cold Coca-Cola. When he gets the coke, the ad becomes more colorful. Its an emotional commercial that touched me in the right way and I really like what Coke did with this.

Your not you when your hungry

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Sv_z9jm8A

Caution: do not play football if your hungry. You might turn into Betty White. Snickers made me snicker after watching this clip. While playing pickup football, a hungry man turns into Betty White. Luckily someone has a Snickers to satisfy his hunger, and he returns to his normal self. Snickers makes the claim, "your not you when your hungry," as opposed to their old motto, "Snickers Satisfies." I like this commercial because Snickers is sending the same message, but using different words.

Happy Cheese Comes from Happy Cows

Happy cows come from California. And apparently they sing too. The ad portrays cows singing until the farmer comes outside and the cows moo until the farmer leaves. I can't remember watching a commercial for cheese and I have never bought cheese, but Ill probably buy Real California Cheese if I see it when I need some cheese. The commercial made me laugh and I have positive feelings towards Real California Cheese.

Nike

From a PR perspective, I really really liked this commercial. This came out right after the Tiger Woods sex scandal broke and people were wondering how Nike was going to respond. The voice of Tiger's father Earl is asking him if he learned anything from his experience as opposed to scolding him for being promiscuous. After viewing this commercial, the Nike brand seems wise and cares about the overall well being of their consumers, which includes me. I have seen thousands of Nike commercials, but this is the one what stands out most.

Troy's Hair

Probably the best 15 second spot I have seen/noticed. The function of the product being advertised is clear: Head & Shoulders shampoo will give you thicker hair. The fact that the Southern Cal grad Troy Polamalu was in it, who happens to be the player with the best hair in the NFL, gives some credibility to their claim about thick hair. The commercial is not too flashy and keeps my attention. I have seen this commercial multiple times this month while watching NFL games, which is a good thing because I fit in the target. Next time I shop for shampoo, I might just pick up some H&S.
